We get a lot of comments and queries regarding why certain features, including the VIP Access subscription are only available on the iOS version of Fussy Vegan Pro and not the Android version.
In Australia, both iOS and Android each have around 50% of the market share for smart phones. But, and this is a huge but, when it comes to premium devices, iOS has a much larger market share. Apple sells significantly more high end iPhones each year than Samsung, Google or any other Android phone maker. Most of the Android marketshare is made up of people purchasing cheaper phones, not the flagship Samsung Galaxy phones.
What does this have to do with Fussy Vegan Pro? The reality is that iOS users are more willing to spend money on paid apps than Android users, at least here in Australia. The only exception is games. This is evident for us where we have around 10,000 Android users and well over 100,000 iOS users. For us, this means that when can spend more money on iOS, like the VIP Access subscription, than we can on Android. To put it more simply, we simply cannot afford to add the VIP Access subscription (and all of the features attached to it) to Android. To this day, we have never made a single dollar of profit from the Android app, ever. The money we do earn from Android gets put back into the Android app and we do update the Android app regularly with new features and updates, it just cannot be at the same level as the iOS version.
Our apps are also focused on user privacy, and we do not generate any revenue from having intrusive ads in the app (which would not generate much income anyway, unless on a game app) or selling user data.
We are not a huge multi-national that care more about profits than anything else, but at the same time, we cannot run the business at a loss either.
We will continue to support the Android community, but we hope this information provides some insight into why certain features are only available on iOS on Fussy Vegan Pro.
